15.04.2007 - Sudoku Watch to Honour Leonhard Euler

Oris has launched the Leonard Euler limited edition watch to mark the 300th anniversary of the birth of the great Swiss mathematician.

The mechanical watch has many different connections to the author of Mechanica, not least a Sudoku influenced dial and numerals.

This exclusive edition is limited to 1707 watches, all individually numbered, corresponding to Euler’s year of birth. The square case symbolises the Latin Squares that occupied so much of the time of the maths genius. Each watch has Euler’s portrait engraved on the case back. The fine leather strap completes the formula for this exceptional watch.

Leonhard Euler (1707 – 1783) pioneered natural science, laid the foundations for modern technology, and ranks on the level of Newton and Einstein for productivity. We hope he would have found this a fitting tribute.
