Carlos Coste finds underwater Oris treasure

24.09.2008 - Carlos Coste finds underwater Oris treasure

Oris ambassador Carlos Coste was the guest of honour at a recent event in Mexico to launch the new collection of Oris diver’s watches.

Held on the beautiful Mayan Riviera on the Caribbean coast of the Yucatan peninsula the event introduced the full range of new divers watches including the new Divers GMT and Divers Small Second models.

Carlos Coste, wearing the new Meistertaucher, gave guests an extraordinary insight into his amazing underwater world. At a press conference he talked about his partnership with Oris and the importance of having a reliable watch when diving. He also talked about his intensive training programme and his latest world record attempt which is planned for this autumn.

Following the press conference the event moved to the mystical Chikin-ha cenote (a freshwater pool which comes from underground) which is a popular diving spot in Mexico. Carlos gave a breathing workshop to show guests how to maximise their lung capacity and then challenged them to a static apnea competition.

Carlos then showcased his amazing ability to dive on just one breath by spending more than four minutes underwater in the cenote! Whilst underwater he retrieved two hidden Oris diver’s watches which were presented to the winners of the static apnea contest.

Juan Pablo from Swiss Time, Oris’ representative in Mexico, said: “The event was a great success and we are honoured that Carlos was able to be here in spite of his busy training schedule. The guests were all impressed to have seen him and to know that the Oris diver’s collection is perfect for professional use.”
