Turning the Oris world of aviation upside down

12.11.2008 - Turning the Oris world of aviation upside down

Flying upside down, travelling at 380 km/h and experiencing up to 10G of force are not things most people do for fun. Oris ambassador and acrobatic pilot Don Vito Wyprächtiger is not most people.

Don Vito has enjoyed putting the BC4 Flight Timer through its paces in recent months and he and his watch have now become an inseparable team. They both sit proudly in the cockpit and work together to ensure a spectacular display.

At the age of just 15 Don Vito decided he wanted to become an acrobatic pilot – at the age of 23 he was already the Swiss Advanced Aerobatic Champion. Working with aerobatic planes is not only his passion – it’s also his job.

A trained mechanical engineer, Don Vito also works as part of the flight team for Hannes Arch, the Austrian display pilot who was recently crowned 2008 Red Bull Air Race world champion.

After the success of his mentor, Don Vito commented: “The displays I put on have been good enough to make me the best in Switzerland – the Red Bull Air Race pilots are the best in the world. This is an amazing opportunity for me to learn from the master – and to test the BC4 Flight Timer to the limits!”
