Oris welcomes Audi Motorsport racing drivers to Hölstein.
Taking a break from their pre-season testing, two-time Le Mans winner Marcel Fässler, reigning DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller, and DTM rookie Nico Müller visited the Oris factory in Hölstein to try their hands at watchmaking.
Following a tour of the Oris headquarters, Rockenfeller, Fässler and Müller had the chance to swap their steering wheels for watchmaking. Highlighting the comparable concentration, patience and calm hands required in both watchmaking and motorsport, the racing drivers reconstructed an Oris Artix GT timepiece – the Oris sports chronograph that accompanies them at speeds of over 300 km/h round the track.
Ulrich W. Herzog, Executive Chairman of Oris, commented, "It was an absolute pleasure to welcome the Audi racers to our factory. All three radiate a strong desire to win and a love of motorsport, which is a passion shared by Oris. We wish them all a successful start to the season."
DTM champion Mike Rockenfeller said, "It was great to be able to experience the fascinating technology behind watchmaking so closely. I was particularly impressed by the high levels of precision, mechanics and innovation involved in the craft, which are qualities of the upmost importance in motorsport."
Passionate supporters of the world of motorsport, Oris is proud to be the 'Official Watch Partner' of Audi Sport's WEC and DTM teams.
