Miles Davis
Miles Davis «I have to change – it’s like a curse».
The Oris Jazz watch Miles Davis Limited Edition 2001.
One of the most important figures in jazz history, Miles Davis was born to a well-to-do family in 1926 in Illinois, USA. He toured locally when in high school, then sought out Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie as soon as he left. As a trumpeter, band leader and composer, he took jazz in diverse directions, including cool jazz, modal jazz and jazz fusion. Birth of the Cool and Kind of Blue, are two of the most popular and influential jazz albums of all time.
In 2001, ten years after the death of this highly gifted, eccentric musician, Oris paid homage to him with a Jazz watch limited to 750 units. The watch is available in stainless steel or gold.
