A memorable year in motor sport for Oris with Williams

19.11.2008 - A memorable year in motor sport for Oris with Williams

Another exciting season in motor sport has come to an end – and this one was the best yet for Oris! The 2008 season produced more highs for Oris in the world of motor sport than any season before. It all began in January when Oris strengthened its partnership with the AT&T Williams Formula One team.

In the world of Formula One the first Grand Prix of the season brought a first career podium for AT&T Williams driver and Oris ambassador Nico Rosberg when he finished 3rd in Australia. He went one better in late September with a 2nd place finish in the inaugural night race Grand Prix in Singapore – testing his TT3 Chronograph for champagne resistance on the podium!

His teammate, Kazuki Nakajima, also had an exciting first season in Formula One. In his FW30 he made history in May by becoming the first Japanese driver ever to score points in the Monaco Grand Prix. Away from the track he worked with Oris designers on an exclusive Limited Edition watch which bears his name. This exclusive Oris timepiece will be launched in early 2009.

In the world of motor sports inspired watches Oris has had a busy year with the launch of the TT3 Formula Gold Limited Edition, a new TT3 Chronograph, the TT3 Chronograph Black, the TT3 Grand Prix Limited Edition and the new Oris Williams F1 Team collection watches. 2009 promises more new motor sports models and - we hope - another exciting season on the track!
