Oris has produced a long and distinguished line of pilots’ watches since the 1940s when we launched the first Pointer Day watches. Since then Oris has continued to produce first class aviation watches and has been active in supporting new aviation exploits whilst taking inspiration from the spirit of both modern and classic aviation.

The breathtaking Oris world of aviation currently encompasses some world renowned teams and individuals. These include the Swiss Hunter Team, a group of former Swiss Air Force pilots based in the north east of Switzerland. They continue to fly a range of legendary aircraft, including the awesome Hawker Hunter Jet and are heavily involved in the design and testing of new Oris pilots’ watches such as the Oris Big Crown collection.

Also instrumental in the development of our pilots’ watches is aerobatic pilot Don Vito Wypraechtiger. 2010 sees Vito become the first Swiss pilot to take part in the prestigious and world famous Reno Air Race. Since 2008 he has put Oris pilots’ watches through their paces in the cockpit. His feedback has inspired the development of several new models, including the new BC3 aviation collection. Oris is proud to support him in his professional career.

But it’s not all planes. From 2008 to early 2010 Oris sponsored the inspirational Blue Eagles Helicopter Display team: the world’s only truly aerobatic helicopter display team. Their flying machines helped to inspire the Oris BC4 collection, and the pilots’ feedback during testing also proved invaluable.
